Assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of library events and programs is an integral part of maintaining a library that is relevant to the community it serves. Once programming is formalized it is easy to sit back and watch it happen determining if it is successful based on the number of attendees. "While attendance at programs is a strong statement of support for the library's function, it does not tell the specific impact that library activities have on users or the community. So in addition to gathering data on how much the library is used, information on how using the library has helped people should also be collected," (Fasick & Holt, 2013). The below link takes attendees to the Penguin Paradise Public Library Programs Assessment Form. This form collects data on specific programs and events to help us better understand their success.
