Summer Reading Program

Why: Challenge yourself to read this summer. Take a book to the beach, the ball game, or the playground. Heading off on a flight to your summer vacation destination? Take a book and keep yourself entertained the whole way there. Just because school ends that doesn't mean reading has to stop. Keep reading and get rewarded at the end of the summer!
Summer is a great time to take it easy and relax, but did you know that knowledge gained during the school year can be lost over the summer? "Summer learning loss erases gains made during the school year, but summer learning programs keep kids growing," (California Library Association, n.d.). Not only does PPPL's summer reading program keep you learning all summer long it's fun too! Join us June 15th for our Summer Reading Events Kickoff and Bookfair where you can learn how it all works and discover the amazing prizes that you can win. Spend two wonderous months challenging yourself then come back to the library August 15th-30th to claim your prizes!
