Summer Events Kickoff and Book Fair

When: June

Who: All Ages

Where: Front Lawn

Why: Join us in celebrating the start of summer and all of the fun activities planned. This annual event in the kickoff to our summer reading program. It also features a book fair, craft fair, author appearances, book signings, story times, and so much more! The day ends in our first movie night of the summer. 

Summer Movie Nights

When: Every Thursday and Saturday evening June-August at dusk

Who: All Ages

Where: Front Lawn

Why: Enjoy family friendly movies on the library front lawn. Blankets and low chairs are welcome. A special are will be provided for those using wheelchairs or require regular sized chairs. Picnics encouraged, food trucks available.

Paws and Pages

When: First Saturday of Every Month at 1pm

Who: Ages 8 and up

Where: Iceberg Shelter on the Front Lawn

Why: Join us every first Saturday of the month for our Paws and Pages event. Children gain valuable literacy skills while reading to the dogs and the dogs gain confidence interacting with people. In collaboration with Misfits Dog Rescue all dogs are adoptable!

Early Literacy Workshop

When: Every six months on the first Tuesday of the month

Who: Parents and Caregivers

Where: Magellanic Room

Why: Associate Professor Laura Bingley, Ed.D. of the University of California leads this workshop. Learn how you can support language and early literacy development in your child. Discussions will include phonemic awareness, building vocabulary, supporting different learning styles, and building positive literary habits.
